| Well, I have some good news and bad news. The bad news first: This week, two more special interest groups decided to help Ken Cuccinelli fund even more misleading attack ads. One of them pledged over $500,000 towards Cuccinelli's cause! Here's the good news: late last night, we surpassed our ambitious $200,000 September Rapid Response Fund Goal in record time. We couldn't have done it without you! Unfortunately, now that two more outside groups are propping up Cuccinelli, the chances that we get outspent only increased this week — despite all of your support. That's why I'm setting a new goal and have to ask you for more help before tonight's midnight deadline. Will you help us keep pace with them by raising another $75,000 today? Pitch in $5 before midnight tonight to help us avoid being outspent. You'll never guess which group was the latest to enter this race on Cuccinelli's behalf: the NRA. The news of their involvement broke the day after the second debate when I said: "Now whatever rating I might get from the NRA, I'm going to stand here and tell you today, that as governor, I want to make sure that every one of our citizens in the Commonwealth of Virginia are safe. Every one of our children, when they go into a classroom should know that they are safe, and when any one of our loved ones goes in to work [they should feel safe]." While the NRA didn't have a lot of success in 2012 thanks to people like you, they are fresh off a victory in the Colorado recall election last month. Will you join with me and make sure they don't pick up any more momentum? I'm counting on you to pitch in and help us reach our new goal before midnight — even $5 will help. You've shown me more support throughout this campaign than I ever could've asked for. You've always been standing, fighting by my side. Thank you, - Terry |
