No GOP emails

Huh. It only took me about halfway through the last email dump to realize that there wasn't a single GOP email in the bunch. I wonder why that is.

If I were more a fan of the Republicans, I'd take the conspiracy route and say that they've seen my replies and deleted me from the email list to keep me out of their hair. But such rampant speculation leading others to wonder how much they actually care about those of us with independent thoughts does nothing but create more of a schism. No, I shall suspect that they've been too busy doing nothing to send out emails.

But I shall go back to their site and re-sign up for the email list, just in case.

You don't think I've been purposefully blocked, do you?

Crucial by Barack Obama

When I make decisions, I think about people like you, and the millions of Americans just like you. I need partners in the Senate and House who share that focus. And tonight's fundraising deadline is crucial.

P.S. -- I know I asked a lot of you in 2012, and I can't tell you how grateful I am that you came through. But the upcoming elections are just as important for making our shared vision a reality. Chip in today.

Re: tonight by Dorothy McAuliffe

Friend,

Did you see President Clinton's note about just how important it is for us all to do our part to elect Terry?

You've stepped up time and again and now we're just $10,667 from hitting our new fundraising goal before midnight.

Please take a moment to read his thoughts, and then donate what you can.

We're so grateful for President Clinton's friendship and support — and for yours.

Terry is facing his very last fundraising deadline tonight. After midnight, he'll publish a finance report for everyone to see.

It's critical Terry hits his goal before then. The press looks at these reports to measure a campaign's momentum and — more importantly — Terry's whole game plan for the next five weeks is based on getting there.

Will you donate $5 to help Terry hit his Rapid Response Fund goal beforemidnight?

I know you've stood with Terry in the past, so you already know he's the right person to lead Virginia forward.

But maybe you don't know just how urgent his election is.

Here's one example I keep thinking about: Virginia's next governor gets to decide whether the Commonwealth accepts Medicaid expansion. Accepting would create tens of thousands of jobs and provide healthcare coverage for hundreds of thousands of Virginians who need it the most.

That seems like an easy decision to me, and Terry strongly supports expansion. But his opponent would reject it, and reject the opportunity to create those jobs and help those uninsured Virginians.

Whoever wins this election will make dozens of decisions just as important as that one.

I trust Terry will make the right choices, but he won't have the chance if people like you and I don't step up to support him at critical moments like this one.

Give $5 to support Terry's campaign before the midnight deadline.

He can't do it without us.

I need your help today by Barack Obama

My presidency has always been about you, and let me tell you what I mean.

We got here in the first place because, in 2008, you built the biggest grassroots organization in the history of American politics. But we were only getting started.

Over the next few years, we worked together to pass health care reform, bring our brave troops home from Iraq, and repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell. None of those things would have happened without your support.

And a little more than 11 months ago, we celebrated another victory.

I need your help today because all of the progress that has been made since 2008 has never been about what I can do for you, but what we can accomplish together.

I need partners in the Senate and House who share that focus. And tonight's fundraising deadline is crucial.

Chip in $3 or more right now before the midnight fundraising deadline to help Democrats finish what we started.

Even though Republicans and their allies outraised and outspent Democrats last year, we came together to build an organization that could overcome all of the super PAC attack ads. Our campaign was disciplined and strategic, and we proved that a few wealthy donors couldn't drown out the voices of millions of ordinary Americans.

This year, Democrats are being outspent again. And while we've shown we can overcome that, we can't be outspent 10-to-1 and expect to win elections in 2013, 2014, and the years to come.

There's so much more we have to do and it won't happen without you:

https://my.democrats.org/Deadline

Thanks,

Barack

We could be outspent by Terry McAuliffe

Well, I have some good news and bad news.

The bad news first: This week, two more special interest groups decided to help Ken Cuccinelli fund even more misleading attack ads. One of them pledged over $500,000 towards Cuccinelli's cause!
Help us reach our new goal so we can keep pace with the NRA's ad buy! | New Goal: $275,000 | Deadline: MIDNIGHT | DONATE NOW
Here's the good news: late last night, we surpassed our ambitious $200,000 September Rapid Response Fund Goal in record time. We couldn't have done it without you!

Unfortunately, now that two more outside groups are propping up Cuccinelli, the chances that we get outspent only increased this week — despite all of your support. That's why I'm setting a new goal and have to ask you for more help before tonight's midnight deadline. Will you help us keep pace with them by raising another $75,000 today?

Pitch in $5 before midnight tonight to help us avoid being outspent.

You'll never guess which group was the latest to enter this race on Cuccinelli's behalf: the NRA.

The news of their involvement broke the day after the second debate when I said:

"Now whatever rating I might get from the NRA, I'm going to stand here and tell you today, that as governor, I want to make sure that every one of our citizens in the Commonwealth of Virginia are safe. Every one of our children, when they go into a classroom should know that they are safe, and when any one of our loved ones goes in to work [they should feel safe]."

While the NRA didn't have a lot of success in 2012 thanks to people like you, they are fresh off a victory in the Colorado recall election last month.

Will you join with me and make sure they don't pick up any more momentum?

I'm counting on you to pitch in and help us reach our new goal before midnight — even $5 will help.

You've shown me more support throughout this campaign than I ever could've asked for. You've always been standing, fighting by my side.

Thank you,

- Terry

the same Super PACs by Tim Kaine

Friend,

Our state is facing tough challenges and difficult choices. We need a strong leader who can grow our economy and make Virginia the nation's best place to do business once again.
Stop the Super PACs -- again! | Goal: $200,000 | Deadline: MIDNIGHT TOMORROW | DONATE NOW
Terry McAuliffe is that leader. But despite the impressive organization that he and other Virginia Democrats have put together, Terry could be outspent in his race for governor.

The Republican Governors Association has already spent $6.8 million, and three right-wing Super PACS have recently launched attack ads against Terry.

That's why I'm asking for your help. Last year these same outside groups, super PACs, and big-money billionaires spent more money trying to defeat my campaign for Senate than on any other race in the country. We didn't let them win last time, and we won't let them win now.

Will you make a contribution before the fundraising deadline tomorrow night to help Terry fight back?

Terry's vision for Virginia is one that builds a strong and diverse 21st century economy by creating jobs, investing in workers, and building up our infrastructure. Terry has spent the past year building a grassroots campaign that has reached out to every corner of our great state. He's focused on solutions for Virginia and on finding ways to work with people from both sides of the aisle to best serve all the people of our Commonwealth.

But in these last weeks before Election Day, anything could happen and it's critical that Terry has the resources he needs to turn out every vote, fight back against every attack, and finish what we've started.

Will you donate today to make sure Terry has what he needs to fight back against the endless attacks?

Thanks for your help. Together, we'll not only win a battle for smart economic strategies and inclusive politics — but we'll also show that the grassroots voter, volunteer and donor is stronger than even the most powerful outside group.

REPLY: Hmm... I guess $1.2 million from the Democratic Governors Association is still a fraction of that Republican figure. Still, let's not lie about where our money is coming from.

Do you understand this? by Joe Biden

Friend --

One senator is running the show in the Republican Party right now.

He's not my senator. And he's not your senator.

But for some reason I can't understand, the Republican Party is letting Ted Cruz lead their charge against Obamacare -- a law that they're still fighting tooth and nail, despite the fact that every branch of the federal government has approved it, and despite the fact that we're seeing real signs that it's starting to work.

Now, Ted Cruz isn't a bad guy. But he needs to be reminded that he's not representing the will of the American people when he tries to obstruct and defund Obamacare.

Before Monday's fundraising deadline, support the organization that's standing up for Obamacare, and chip in $3 to the Democrats.

There was a time when leaders from both parties came together to do what made sense for the country.

This isn't the Congress I remember being a part of. And it sure isn't a Congress that represents the American people.

Fight back against the far right by chipping in today:

My daughter's response to Ted Cruz by Claire McCaskill

Friend --

We've heard a lot about Green Eggs and Ham this week.

It's one of the Dr. Seuss books I read to my kids when they were little, about how sometimes when you try new things, you like them. And on Tuesday night, Ted Cruz read it to his kids from the Senate floor (which I thought was nice), in between talking about how he wants to shut down the government if Obamacare isn't defunded (less nice).

My daughter (she's not so little anymore) texted me about it -- "doesn't he realize that Green Eggs and Ham is about how you can't knock things until you try them?" Turns out she was paying attention at story time.

I think the problem is that Senator Cruz is knocking the law before his constituents have gotten to try it. As the law is implemented in the weeks and months to come, they might just end up liking it.

In the meantime, join Team Obamacare and help protect health reform.

We're already seeing so many benefits from health care reform -- young people being able to stay on their parents' health plans, no lifetime coverage caps, and free preventative care. And in just a few days, the insurance exchanges will go live and more and more people will get covered, showing again Obamacare isn't the big bad government plan some Republicans have made it out to me.

We need to work together to protect and strengthen the law. Join the team that's fighting for Obamacare today:

Our last report by Terry McAuliffe

So, you'll never guess who came to Virginia to help Ken Cuccinelli this week.

Mitt Romney.
Cuccinelli's pulling out all the stops -- we can't let him top us! | Goal: $200,000 | Deadline: Monday, September 30 | DONATE NOW
In the past few weeks, Cuccinelli has been calling in favors with Republican donors' favorite politicians. First it was Marco Rubio, then Jeb Bush, now Mitt Romney. Coming soon: Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.

Cuccinelli's breaking out all the stops in advance of Monday's fundraising deadline because he knows that the financial reports we have to file will be scrutinized line by line. This is the last opportunity for the press to analyze the success (or failure) of our campaigns based on how much grassroots support is in our corner.

We cannot allow Cuccinelli to top us. We just can't.

Will you pitch in $5 right now to make sure we keep our momentum going and reach our $200,000 Rapid Response Goal?

Right now we're still $58,438 away from hitting that goal — and falling short could mean that we aren't able to reach all of the voters we need to talk to during the last month of this campaign.

It could also mean a week of press coverage about the momentum shifting from one candidate to the other.

With recent polls showing that this race is still close, that's something we just can't afford.

Make sure we don't fall short of our goal by making a $5 donation today.

The finish line is in sight . Let's close this campaign out strong!

Thanks for all your help,

- Terry

Here's one thing I can guarantee you about what's going to happen over the coming days and weeks:

No matter what Congress decides to do, it will be decided by just a few votes.

Now, you don't just get those votes by chance -- you get them because you work to win each and every last race, and make sure the people coming to Congress are people who are going to stand with Barack and vote for policies that support the middle class.

Obamacare in Virginia by Laura Santucci, Democrats.org

Democrats
Friend --

Ted Cruz managed to talk about Obamacare on the Senate floor for 21 hours earlier this week without saying much that was actually true about Obamacare.

It was an example of just how much misinformation there is out there about health reform -- and we need to fight back with the truth.

We put together a beautiful new website that's full of facts about how Obamacare is working across the country -- including in Virginia. Take a look, and share it with your friends and family:

ThisIsObamacare.com

Open enrollment in Obamacare's exchanges begin in less than a week, so it's never been more important to get the word out about the benefits of health reform.

So set the record straight on the misinformation about Obamacare -- hold Ted Cruz and his Republican allies accountable:

can't let up by Stephanie Cutter

Hey there,

Another poll came out this week showing Terry McAuliffe with a marginal lead over Ken Cuccinelli in the Virginia governor's race.
Terry can't win without your help! | Goal: $200,000 | Deadline: Monday, September 30 | DONATE NOW
Most people I know were thrilled. But I got nervous.

Here's why: the easiest way to lose any election is to get complacent. And with the Tea Party fundraising machine pouring millions into Virginia to elect their poster boy Ken Cuccinelli, we could be in real trouble if we let up for even a second.

Donate $5 or more right now to support Terry — he can't win this without your help.

Because of the grassroots movement behind him, Terry's been able to tell his story all over Virginia. And as undecided voters get to know him (and learn all the great things you and I already know), they're coming to our side.

But Terry's not the only one talking to them. His opponent is out on the trail and in voters' living rooms every night with attack ads funded by Super PACs with near-limitless resources.

As Deputy Campaign Manager for President Obama's reelection campaign last year, I saw a grassroots movement overpower those Super PACs once. We can do it again, but only if we all step up.

What we do this week will determine which campaign is in a better position to make its closing argument over the next five.

Terry's facing a major fundraising deadline on Monday and right now he's $80,247 short of his goal. Will you chip in $5 to help him get there — and win this election?
