Before midnight by Jordan Kaplan, Democrats.org

Democrats
Friend --

There was basically no point this week where you could have turned on the news and not seen why the work we're doing is so important.

If you had been on Twitter late Tuesday night, you saw a dramatic showdown over women's rights in Texas. If you had been watching MSNBC on Wednesday morning, you saw a country celebrate as the Supreme Court struck down DOMA. And if you picked up the New York Times on Friday, you read about a historic vote in the Senate to pass bipartisan immigration reform.

So many things we fought for in last year's election are happening right now. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $5 or more in the next few hours before midnight's fundraising deadline.

My job is to raise money to support Democrats who have President Obama's back, and I look at every dollar raised as one more chance to get in the ring and fight -- for common-sense immigration reform, for gun safety, for voting rights, for clean energy, and for Democrats across the country like Ed Markey and Wendy Davis.

At midnight tonight, I want to tell our chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, that we will have all the resources we need to win the battles ahead.

In order to do that, I need your help -- chip in $5 or more right now:

Let's do this,

12 Hours! by Katie Walsh

Catherine,

We only have 12 hours until the end of the quarter, and our biggest 2013 fundraising deadline to date!

These last hours are critical to help us achieve our fiscal goals for the quarter and prepare for the important work of winning elections.

Contribute $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can today and help us finish this quarter strong!

Thank you,

Game of Thrones by Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Democrats
Friend --

"The louder they scream, the more we know we're getting something done."

That's not a line from one of the bad guys on Game of Thrones. That's something that Texas Governor Rick Perry actually said this week about his own constituents -- the ones fighting for women's health.

He was referring to the sweeping anti-choice legislation that he's trying to ram through in the Texas state legislature -- legislation that was blocked earlier this week by a courageous group of legislators led by State Senator Wendy Davis -- which would have the effect of shutting down access to basic health care for many women across the state.

I don't understand how Rick Perry could look at what happened in the Texas state house this week -- where thousands of Texans gathered to support Wendy and her colleagues against this extreme anti-woman legislation -- and take it as a sign that he's doing a good job. But that's what we're up against.

A lot of people thought the Republicans would take a lesson from the loss we handed them last November -- I certainly hoped they would moderate their policies and rhetoric, especially towards women and other underrepresented groups.

But eight months later, they still look like the same party that talked about "binders full of women," the same party who said their "job is not to worry" about 47 percent of the American people, and the same party that talked about "legitimate rape."

The Republicans aren't becoming more reasonable -- if anything, they've become more extreme. And if we don't get serious now, they'll be in a good position to have major gains in federal and state offices across the country later this year and in the years to come.

I'm not willing to let that happen. I hope you aren't either, because I really need your help.

There's a critical fundraising deadline at midnight tonight that will have a major impact on our ability to beat them at the polls. Please chip in $5 or more before then, and help support Democrats like Wendy Davis who are going to take it to Republicans like Rick Perry:

https://my.democrats.org/Deadline

Thanks,

This is important by Joe Biden

Friend --

There's never been as much distance -- at least since I've been alive -- between where the mainstream of the Republican Party is and the Democratic Party is.

It's a chasm. It's a gigantic chasm.

I'm not talking about the character or even the quality of the minds of the Republicans in Congress -- they're not bad guys. But they don't get it.

It's never been more important to elect and support Democrats who are going to have Barack's back, both in D.C. and across the country. Chip in $5 or more to do just that before tomorrow's fundraising deadline.

This isn't your father's Republican party.

When I asked several Republican senators after they voted against background checks, not one offered an explanation on the merits of why they couldn't vote for them. But almost to a person, they said, "I don't want to take on Ted Cruz. I don't want to take on Rand Paul. They'll be in my district."

We need people in Washington who are going to listen to their constituents -- not to Ted Cruz. Help support Democrats before midnight tomorrow:

https://my.democrats.org/Deadline

Thanks,

Joe

Contribute $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can today and help us spread the Republican message and meet our fiscal goals!

A year ago today by Mike Shields

Catherine,

A year ago today, the Supreme Court ruled Obamacare constitutional.

Obamacare is still bad policy, and bad medicine. It was, and will always be a disaster.

We are continuing the fight to protect Americans from this terrible law.

Contribute $5 today to receive your “Obama Doesn’t Care” bumper sticker today!

Sincerely,

REPLY:

So...no dissertation on why exactly Obamacare is a bad law. And constitutionality apparently doesn't mean that a law is good. And yet Republicans support many laws that are obviously unconstitutional. And declare that if something isn't in the constitution it can't happen period. Lovely.

NOTE: Sorry, I'm not very articulate right now.

This summer, we are moving forward with a bold plan to refocus our ground game, working year round in neighborhoods and communities.

But we cannot do this without your support.

Contribute $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can to help us turn America Red!

The flat-earth society by Patrick Gaspard

Democrats
Friend --

Just this week, President Obama announced his comprehensive plan to tackle climate change. And guess what? The climate-change deniers are already out in full force.

It's astounding to me that in 2013 there are still people who claim that climate change isn't real -- a viewpoint with no basis in scientific fact.

But because these people have the backing of powerful special interests, they've been able to control much of the conversation in Washington and halt progress on these critical issues. And while I hate to say it, if we don't act quickly to support the President, they might win again.

Will you stand up to climate-change deniers and stand with President Obama?

Under the President's plan, we have a real chance to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and create a more sustainable future for our children, and our children's children. But it won't happen if we don't act.

I can guarantee you that this will be a big fight -- many Republicans will deny science and claim that "those liberals" are making it up. But you, me, and 97 percent of scientists know better -- climate change is real and we have to act now before it's too late.

As the President said, "we don't have time for a meeting of the flat-earth society." Stand up and fight today:

DOMA by Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Democrats
Friend --

The Supreme Court has just struck down the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, giving tens of thousands of Americans the federal rights and protections that they've been unfairly denied for years.

It's just the latest step we've made in recent years toward a more equal country where people aren't treated differently because of who they love.

This progress wouldn't have happened without the hard work of activists and people like you -- and we won't finish the fight for equality unless we all step up and finish it.

Commit to standing with the Democrats who are fighting for equality today, and let's make sure we have more days like this to celebrate.

There is no gay agenda or straight agenda. As Democrats, our only agenda is full equality under the law for every American.

For so many Americans, today's decision was personal -- just as it was when President Obama signed the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, put in place hospital visitation rights for LGBT couples, and established the first comprehensive National HIV/AIDS Strategy.

Of course there is more to do. But today's decision shows how the tide has turned in our favor. By coming together and supporting Democrats across the country who are fighting for equal rights at the federal and state levels, we can make real progress.

Please join me and fight for equal rights for every American:

http://my.democrats.org/DOMA

Equality is not an aspiration, it's a destination we will reach together.

Thanks,

Debbie

The Voting Rights Act by Donna Brazile

Friend --

Voting is the lifeblood of our democracy -- it's how we hold those in power accountable and it's how we ensure that every last one of us has a say in how our country is governed.

We can't ever get complacent about the right to vote. We need to protect it and we need to work every day to stop those who would limit access to the polls.

Today's ruling by the Supreme Court striking down parts of the Voting Rights Act is a dramatic setback in that fight. The justices turned back the clock on civil rights, but that will not stop us -- it will only strengthen our resolve.

Say you're with me and other Democrats who will keep fighting to protect the right to vote for all Americans.

I was there back in 2006 when Congress voted to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act for another 25 years. It was a powerful moment, and it proved that the work of protecting the right to vote is never done.

In fact, just this year alone Republicans have introduced legislation to limit voting access in 30 states -- more than 55 different measures.

Many of these measures most directly impact people of color, working families and those living in poverty, as well as first-time voters and students.

Today, let us redouble our efforts to make sure that every single American has the right to vote and has access to the polls. Join me in this effort:

Goodbye American Jobs by Sharon Day

Catherine,
President Obama just announced his climate change plan – effectively putting a target on the back of tens of thousands of American jobs. From the same team that brought you Obamacare, this is nothing more than the President appeasing the hard left wing of his party with more job killing regulations instead of focusing on solutions to put Americans back to work.

The President knows his harmful policies would have no shot of passing through Congress, so he’s relying on an executive order to circumvent the legislative process. President Obama’s own climate advisor even went so far as to claim, “a war on coal is exactly what’s needed” in this county.

This is not acceptable, we cannot sit idly by while our President forces his liberal agenda on the American people.

This is why we need your help.

Sign the petition to tell President Obama to stop hurting our economy to appease his base.

Thanks,

So...there is no base pleasing being done when Republicans so ardently deny climate change?! Please address the claims made in the Frontline documentary, "Big Sky, Big Money" where EXTREMELY hardcore Republicans lost their congressional seats simply because they believe in man-made climate change. And while you're viewing that, lets discuss the obnoxious amount of money being spent IN congress and FOR congress. Why is it that it's okay to cut everything EXCEPT congressional salaries and benefits?! And I mean the actual "faces" of government, not the poor interns who do all the grunt work and yet face the ONLY cuts congress will allow. Stop by Representative Rigell's office for more information.

What I'm focused on by Barack Obama

Friend --

I've run my last campaign -- something Michelle is very happy about.

All I am focused on is governing -- on making sure that our country is stronger and more prosperous than it was before I took office. And I need more members of Congress with that same attitude.

In under a week, Democrats across the country will face an important fundraising deadline -- and how much we raise in the next few days will go a long way toward determining whether or not our Democratic candidates are set up to succeed.

Chip in $5 or more to support Democrats who will stand with me and look out for you, not for special interests.

I want to make sure that we've got leaders who are looking out for all of us -- who are committed to growing this economy in a broad-based way for everybody so that every child in America can succeed -- no matter what they look like, where they come from, or what their last name is.

And in order for that to happen, I need you to be just as engaged as you were in 2012 and 2008, starting right now.

The work we do now could determine whether or not we'll be able to finish what we started four years ago.

Chip in today to help elect Democrats who will finish the job:

https://my.democrats.org/Deadline

Thanks,

Barack

Only 6 Days! by Katie Walsh

Catherine,
There are only 6 days left until the end of the quarter and we need your help to reach our fundraising goals.

We are well on our way to achieving the objectives that were laid out in our Growth and Opportunity report, but this summer is critical to our goal of supporting boots on the ground in all 50 states.

This is the largest and earliest nationwide staffing and infrastructure buildout we have ever seen, and will lay a strong foundation for the Republican Party to build off of for many years and elections to come.

Contribute $25, $50, $200, or whatever you can today to help us build our get out the vote efforts this summer!

Join Me in Supporting Gabriel Gomez by Jon Huntsman

Is this email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser.
Greetings Friend,
Given your past support, I wanted to let you know about an exciting new project of mine, Red Rock PAC, which we'll use as an avenue to support strong candidates who are running to change the current national political dynamic and deliver solutions for Americans.
One of those people is Gabriel Gomez.
Gabriel Gomez is running for Senate in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  He’s a first generation American, a Naval Academy graduate and former Navy SEAL, and a father of four.  Gabriel will be an independent voice in Washington focused on long-term problem solving - not his next election.
His opponent is part of the problem: he's been in Congress for 37 years and votes with his party leadership 99 percent of the time. Given he has nothing positive to run on, he and his party have been using money and attack ads in an attempt to drown out Gabriel’s message of common sense reforms.
In their last debate Tuesday night, Gabriel put it well, “You've had 37 years to get something done. Give me 17 months.” With all of our help he will be able to make good use of that time.
Mary Kaye and I just pitched in, and I urge you to take a look at Gabriel's candidacy. You’ll like what you see. If you are in New England you can find out how to lend a hand in the final lap here and the rest of us can donate here.
Thanks for your continued friendship, and hopefully together we can get Washington working again.
Best,

Jon Huntsman

A single vote by Joe Biden

Friend --

We have huge battles coming down the pike.

A single vote in Congress may determine the outcome of immigration reform.

A single vote may very well determine the next Supreme Court Justice.

A single vote could be the difference between whether we get to take a step forward on issues like preventing gun violence, protecting women's rights, or implementing Obamacare.

My good friend Ed Markey, who's running to fill John Kerry's Senate seat in Massachusetts, could be that vote -- and if he is, I know he'll do the right thing.

Chip in $5 or more to help us elect Democrats like Ed who will have Barack's back in the months and years to come.

I know and trust Ed. I'm absolutely confident that no matter what the pressures are, he'll vote his conscience and have the courage of his convictions.

We'd be lucky to have a person of his caliber in the Senate -- but we can't take any election for granted.

Don't wake up wondering if you could have done more. Chip in $5 right now:

https://my.democrats.org/Ed-Markey

Thanks,

Joe

Are you ready? by Reince Priebus

Catherine,
This year is almost halfway through and we have made great progress with our Growth and Opportunity Report goals. Our new national field program is already making strides with the hire of key leaders, but with under 10 days left until our next major fundraising deadline we still need your help.
This summer we are launching our 50 state initiative to put thousands of boots on the ground across the country. This is the largest voter outreach program our party has ever seen, and the most critical part of our plan to overhaul our ground game.
Summer is almost upon us, and these months are critical for laying the foundation for many years and elections to come.
This is why we need your help.
Contribute $25, $50, $200, or whatever you can today to help us spread our party’s message of prosperity to every American.

7 Days Left! by Reince Priebus

Catherine,
There are only 7 days left until one of the most competitive elections of 2013, and we need your help!

The special election in Massachusetts is our chance to send a message to Washington, and put a strong leader in the Senate. Gabriel Gomez, a former Navy SEAL and successful businessman, is the fresh face we need.

President Obama would love to have more allies in the Senate to push his radical agenda. This is why leading Democrats including President Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden have been campaigning for Gomez’s opponent, and special interest groups across the country are pumping money into this campaign at a remarkable rate.

Help us fight back! Contribute $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can to help us keep Democrats on defense in deep blue Massachusetts.

Well, it's a good thing you didn't mention the IRS targeting conservative groups since you've attacked "special interests".
