Favor by Terry McAuliffe

Hi there,

We're just a few hours from midnight and our last big fundraising deadline of my campaign, so I wanted to take a moment to step back and say this:

Thank you. I'm so appreciative of your support. I couldn't do any of this without you.

Together, 8,500 of us have spent more than 150,000 hours talking to voters in person and on the phone. We've blown through one fundraising goal today and we're poised to blow past a second.

Please donate $5 right now — we're just $4,535 from hitting our goal and your donation could be the one that puts us over the top.

Thanks for all you do,

- Terry

People like you and me by Jeremy Bird

Friend,

I'm Jeremy Bird. I oversaw the Obama for America field program, so you might have gotten an email or two (or a hundred) from me if you helped reelect the President last year.
Join the Weekend of Action
I promise I have a really good reason for being back in your inbox.

In 52 days, Virginians will pick their next governor. And who they choose is entirely up to us.

If people like you and me put in the time — knocking doors, making calls, and having conversations about what's on the line in November — Terry McAuliffe will come out on top. If we don't, he could fall short.

Will you join us for our Weekend of Action on September 21 and 22? We'll be able to reach more voters in your community with you on the team:

Yes, I'd like to volunteer on Saturday, September 21
Yes, I'd like to volunteer on Sunday, September 22.
I can't make it next weekend, but want to volunteer before Election Day.

If I learned one thing from last year's election, it's that there's nothing more influential than a one-on-one conversation about the power of your vote.

Those conversations can turn apathy into support, and support into excitement. They let people know there's an election happening and how to take part.

But we have a whole lot of those conversations left to have, and less than two months to have them in.

That's why I'm in — recruiting volunteers and anything else I can do to lend a hand.

And it's why I'm counting on you to join me. Sign up to volunteer during the Weekend of Action.

Let's do this,

Jeremy Bird

Constitution Day Rally with Mark Levin by Ken Cuccinelli

Dear Friends of Liberty,
The United States Constitution is the rock upon which our republic was built. The Constitution represents the protection of liberty, the creation of the first government of the people, by the people, and for the people. And September 17th is the day that we, as Americans, celebrate this revolutionary document, which makes our way of life possible.
This year I am excited to be holding an event on Constitution day in Sterling, with my friend Mark Levin. Mark is not just a successful radio host and constitutional scholar but also one of the leading voices in our national discourse speaking in the defense of liberty. I am enormously proud to have Mark join us at this year’s event.
I hope you can join me at this important event this coming Tuesday at noon
Here are the details of the event:
    Tuesday, September 17th, 12:00pm Noon
    Sterling Neighborhood Office Parking Lot
    21430 Cedar Drive, Unit 118
    Sterling, VA 20164
Click here to RSVP and please note that there is no cost to attend this event.
This year, more than ever, it is important that we set aside some time to remember the importance of the Constitution. With a government in Washington DC that often seems out of control, featuring corrupt politicians and bureaucrats gaming the system and violating our rights, the Constitution is our last line of defense. When I took an oath to defend the Constitution, I meant it – and a primary goal of my campaign to be the next governor of Virginia is to protect the Constitution and the rights it guarantees to every one of us.
If you are not able to attend the event, please consider a small donation to my campaign so that we can continue fighting for the liberties our Constitution was meant to ensure and protect. Click here to contribute.
Thank you for all you do in support of our values and First Principles.
Sincerely,
Ken Cuccinelli, II
Attorney General of Virginia

Time for something new by Mike Shields

Catherine,
According to a recent poll, Americans preferred the Republican Party by 4 points when it came to dealing with the economy and 13 when it came to reducing the federal deficit.

It’s no surprise why.

Since coming into office, President Obama has increased the National Debt by $6.1 trillion and added $819.3 billion of taxes in ObamaCare alone.  The result? 21.6 million Americans unemployed, underemployed or having given up looking for work.

Americans are paying the cost for President Obama’s failed economic leadership and turning to the GOP for new solutions.

You and I know, Republicans have real solutions to reduce our deficit, spur economic growth, and create jobs.

But first, we must elect more principled, conservative Republicans.

This is our mission.  Will you stand with us?

Please help by contributing $14 to defend our Republican House majority and win back the Senate in 2014.

Which recent poll? What was it's percentage error? I'd like to see the actual percentage points because 47 to 51 isn't that big of a difference. As is 16 to 20.

As for the definition of "result", yeah, no. Pretty sure that housing bubble caused by lack of banking regulations is still taking all the credit for that.

Preventative care is cheaper than waiting until the heart attack and insurance is the responsible way to pay for the care I know I'll need in the future.

Un-freaking-believable by James Carville

Friend,

The same national organization that's already spent more than $5 million attacking Terry McAuliffe just gave Ken Cuccinelli's campaign another million dollars!
Join James Carville and help Terry hit his Emergency Response Fund goal by MIDNIGHT
Math's not my strong suit, but that means they've spent a total of $6.8 million so far — almost approaching a dollar per Virginian.

That much money will make a real difference for the Cuccinelli campaign. It could pay for direct mail to thousands of voters, go towards blanketing the state in radio ads, or (and this is most likely) buy a whole lot of attack ads on TV across the Commonwealth.

If Terry is going to keep up, he needs our help. When I heard about the donation, I knew I had to do everything I could — and that I had to check in with you to see if you'd join me.

Will you donate $5 right now to help Terry? His team needs to raise $25,000 bymidnight tonight to counter these damaging RGA-funded attacks.

Terry is the only person that can stop Ken Cuccinelli's extreme right-wing agenda from becoming a very scary reality for Virginia and national Republicans know it.

News just broke that Jeb Bush is coming to town to raise money for Cuccinelli's campaign. And that's on top of the fundraising trips already planned by Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio!

There aren't a lot of competitive races this year, so Republicans — who want a big win to build momentum for next year's elections — know electing Tea Party darling Ken Cuccinelli is their best shot.

They're all in. And they'll come out on top if we're not all in for Terry McAuliffe, too.

Chip in $5 right now to make sure Terry hits his fundraising goal before midnight.

I can't emphasize enough that this is a critical moment for you to support Terry. We need to stop Jeb Bush and his friends from pushing Cuccinelli into the lead right now — it'll be much harder to fight our way back from behind.

We're all counting on you,

James Carville

Catherine,
Michael Bloomberg spent $350,000 to defeat the 2nd Amendment in a Colorado recall election.

Principled conservatives stood up to him and the Democrat politicians that ignored their constituents.

And we won.

Republicans were able to go into heavily Democrat districts, face down millions of special interest dollars, and replace two Democrat state Senators with Republicans who support our constitutional rights.

Tuesday night’s election results are proof that our conservative grassroots remain strong.

The Republican National Committee was able to support those local grassroots leaders with staff on the ground, equipment and data resources.

Earlier this year, we made a commitment that we would work to defeat Democrats in every state and every community.

Please help us continue that commitment by contributing $14 for 2014 today!

I'm disappointed by Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Democrats
Friend--

Yesterday, I tweeted about how people had a hard time voting in the Colorado recall election, and wow did the Republicans blow up my Twitter feed. They think that Democrats are angry because "dead people and illegal aliens" weren't allowed to vote.

I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. Voting is a basic American right -- maybe the basic American right -- and right-wing special interests like the NRA and the Koch brothers poured a lot of time, effort, and money into this race as court battles made it harder for (very much alive) Coloradans to cast a ballot in this week's election. We know that when voting is made harder, Democratic turnout is driven down.

We're not going to let this stand. That's why we've launched the new National Voter Registration Project to ensure that what happened in Colorado doesn't happen again, and why I want you to be a part of it. Add your name today.

The Colorado recall was defined by blatant attacks on our democratic principles. Colorado voting laws allow mail-in ballots to be automatically sent to voters, and in the election last November, 74 percent of Coloradans used mail-in ballots. For the recall, due to obstruction, voters weren't allowed to vote by mail and didn't even know where to vote in person until two weeks before the election.

These efforts were able to depress voter turnout. Now they're saying that what happened in this election is a preview of what's to come in 2014.

I don't know about you, but I'm taking them at their word.

Add your name today, and together, let's stand up for the right to vote:

To me, ONE person who is denied the right to vote is one too many. And there are numerous documented cases of lawyers having to work pro-bono for six months in order to get people through all the loopholes to register to vote. I can only imagine what my grandfather would have to do in today's system. I mean, he's dead now, but he did not have a birth certificate until he was 18; it was supposedly lost. In 1948, he had to have two neighbors swear that he was born in order to get a legal birth certificate. A few months ago, I came across his original birth certificate which had not only the wrong date, but the wrong middle name. Now imagine if he'd never gotten that certificate when he was 18. He needed it to join the Navy, but many poor people living and working in rural America never needed such a document. Some never even got a driver's license. Now in their 70s and 80s, they're being told that their phone bill, the document that has always allowed them to vote in the past, is invalid. And it's not just the old ones. I have TWO friends who faced challenges when it came to getting a drivers license simply because their parents lost track of their birth certificates.

Hi there,

I wanted to make sure you saw James Carville's note — the RGA just poured another million into my opponent's campaign, and Jeb Bush and Rand Paul are on their way to help him raise hundreds of thousands more to attack me on TV.

Last year's elections proved that grassroots campaigns like ours can out-raise, out-organize, and beat these guys. But that only works with your support.

I'm just $4,873 from hitting our $25,000 emergency response goal by midnight. Please chip in right now to make sure I have the resources I need to fight back:

Twelve years ago today by Reince Priebus

Catherine,
Twelve years ago today, all of our lives were changed forever.

As we mark this somber anniversary of the attacks on our nation, I hope we will all take a moment to remember the innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania.

We should also honor those who risked their lives to save others—the first responders who rushed into the wreckage and the patriots aboard Flight 93 who said, ‘Let’s roll.’

In the years since that fateful day, courageous men and women stepped forward to defend our nation from evil at home and abroad, and we remain steadfastly grateful for their service to our country.

May God continue to bring peace to the families of the victims and heroes of September 11th, and may God always bless America.

Join me in honoring those who lost their lives that day. Share this message with your friends and family through email or Facebook.

Run with me, right now by Cory Booker

Friend --

It's a fair question these days: why would someone want to go to Washington to serve in the Senate at all? My answer: some people run from big challenges -- I run toward them.

I'm running in the October special election to be New Jersey's next United States senator -- and in a sign of the times, my extreme opponent has turned his campaign into an attack on President Obama and his agenda.

Too many of America's leaders turn their backs on the big challenges we face as a nation: the kinds of challenges that could make the lives of our children harder than our own. People like my extreme, out-of-touch opponent are more concerned with sticking it to President Obama than sticking up for American families.

Run with me to help win this special October senate race and solve our toughest challenges together. Join my campaign today.

I understand the skepticism about politics today. I saw it when I took office as mayor of Newark, N.J. Some people said we couldn't create jobs or attract businesses. But today the city's population is growing for the first time in 60 years, and while Newark represents only three percent of the state's population, it's now home to one-third of all commercial and multi-family development. Families can see a better future for themselves here.

I believe that we can do better. I know that when you bring people together to focus on our problems, even the most difficult things become possible.

But my opponent promises to put his extreme ideology above all else. He calls Social Security a "Ponzi scheme" and wants to do away with Medicare. He would outlaw abortion even in cases of rape or incest. He advocates a "tax increase for the poor" while eliminating the corporate income tax. This is the type of divisive agenda that would undo decades of consensus and pull our nation backward.

I reject division and skepticism. And with your help, so will the people of New Jersey in this special election.

Our special election is coming up fast: October 16th. And these special elections are wildcards -- we've seen out-of-touch candidates get elected in these typically low-turnout contests.

We don't have any time to waste, and we can't risk losing this seat.

Tell me you'll run with me before the election next month:

http://my.democrats.org/Cory-Booker

The author Jim Rohn once said, "Your life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change."

I'm running because the truth I've lived in Newark is that people who care can find solutions to even the most difficult challenges.

I hope you'll join me,

Cory Booker

Catherine,

Since President Obama took office, the average family has seen their health care premiums increase by $3,500 a year.

I know, and you know, President Obama said that ObamaCare would lower the cost of health care. But he lied.

ObamaCare enrollment doesn't start until October 1st, but health care premiums for American families have already gone up by $3,500 a year under President Obama’s policies - and are expected to skyrocket even more.

It shouldn't be called "ObamaCare" when it’s actually "ObamaCosts."

Help us spread the truth.

Get the #ObamaCosts bumper sticker today and help set the record straight.

Yes. Our health insurance costs went up with Obamacare. My brother and I are over the age of 21 and neither of us is in school. Before Obamacare, we'd be lumped into the category of SOL, unless either one of us landed one of those jobs with a killer health insurance package. You do know that the average American will take a job offering less pay if it comes with good benefits, right?

Anyway, yes, our costs went up by about $20/month because Optima saw their profits spike when the government mandated that young adults be covered by their parents insurance until the age of 26 regardless of being in school. Oh wait. I'm sorry. It was about $10/month. No...wait. It was less than that because it simply went back to what it was before we got "old". Anywho. After they mandated for health insurance, Optima started offering the same option for dental and eye care. Which led to the $20 "increase" that was really just the difference between what my parents paid when it was just the two of them and what it was when my brother and I were allowed back onto the insurance.

'Course, there are some other great perks with Obamacare. I haven't been dropped in MONTHS! While I was in college, before Obamacare, I got dropped from the insurance literally every semester. I have about 10 insurance cards in my spare wallet from every time I got added back onto the plan.

You see, may parents taught me the value of being a responsible citizen. And responsible citizens plan for the future. While I'm incredibly healthy today, I won't always be so lucky. And that is what insurance is. It's paying a little today to prepare for the inevitable. It's the people MY age that are the drain on health care. Those of us who are young and healthy who don't have insurance. How can a responsible citizen expect to retire when they haven't set any money aside to prepare for it? How can a responsible citizen expect to be cared for when they succumb to the illnesses of old age when they haven't set aside the money to prepare for it. Who again are the Socialists?

I'm asking a favor by Bill Clinton

Friend,

I'm going to make a prediction.
Join Bill Clinton and support Terry McAuliffe
Hours — maybe minutes if they're quick on their feet — but probably hours after I send this email, Terry's opponent's campaign is going to try and raise some money off of it.

"Bill Clinton's just stepping in," they'll tell their supporters, "because Terry's one of his best friends."

That's absolutely true. Terry is my friend, but my reasons for writing you today go way beyond that.

I'm writing because it makes a difference who the next Governor of Virginia is, and it makes a difference what policies he'll fight for. And I know Terry will fight for the right things as Governor.

But Terry's going to need people like you and me in his corner if he's going to fight back all the attacks coming his way from Ken Cuccinelli's Tea Party allies — please give $5 or whatever you can afford to support Terry's campaign.

Terry's got a lot of fight in him, and he'll use it to move this great Commonwealth forward — not back.

He knows that the engine of economic growth is education — so he'll improve and support our public schools and community colleges.

He believes that growing our economy means giving everyone a stake in it — so he'll build a Virginia where everyone has a chance to succeed.

He'll focus on what brings Virginians together, not what divides them. And above all, he'll put job creation first.

If that's a vision you support, please do everything you can to elect Terry.

Donate $5 right now to make sure he has the resources he needs to reach every voter in Virginia.

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton
